Placebo has no accounts and never asks for an email address. It runs no analytics and shows no ads.
What is processed
- Your wallet address, when you connect a wallet. It stays in your browser; it reaches our server only when a forecast you publish names it, as part of that public forecast.
- Your transactions. A stake, a forecast, a dispute or a claim is a public transaction on Robinhood Chain. Its address, amount and time are public by nature and are read from the chain and shown on the site. We cannot remove them.
- Server logs. Our host keeps standard request logs (IP address, time, path, user agent) for security and operations, for a short period set by the host.
- Published forecasts. The JSON of a forecast you publish (market, probability, your one line, your address, the minute) is stored under its hash and served publicly, because it is the content of a public on-chain hash.
- Browser storage. Your display choices, the wallet connection and your cookie answer. See the cookie policy.
GDPR
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the legal basis for request logs is our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and running, and for browser storage it is your consent where consent is required. You have the right to access, correct, erase and port your data, to object to and restrict processing, and to complain to your data protection authority. Because we hold no account data, most requests can be met by clearing your browser storage; for anything else, write to the X account linked in the footer. Data that is on a public blockchain cannot be erased by anyone.
Transfers and processors
The site is served by a hosting provider that may process request logs outside your country under its own safeguards. RPC providers see the transactions your wallet sends, and WalletConnect relays the session when you connect through it. Placebo sells no data and shares none for marketing.
Children
Placebo is not for anyone under the age of majority.
